Sawadee kap, If you are a tourist planning to visit Thailand, Bangkok and are unsure where to stay or book a hotel, Tripsometime can guide you.

The areas that tourists commonly prefer to stay in, especially recommended by locals, are those located near the BTS Skytrain or MRT subway lines as a top priority because they offer convenient transportation, numerous restaurants, and shopping malls, making them suitable for tourists. However, the prices may be higher accordingly. These areas include:
Thong Lor:
The most popular area for tourists, a hub for various types of restaurants, close to famous shopping malls like EmQuartier, Emporium, and the new Emsphere. There are many hotels and guest houses for rent, and it’s near the BTS Thong Lo station.
Asok:
Asoke is another popular neighborhood for foreigners visiting Thailand. Asoke area has famous shopping malls like Terminal 21 Asoke and Korean Town. Asoke is conveniently located next to both the BTS Skytrain and the MRT subway, making it possible to travel in all directions around Bangkok.
Asoke offers a wide variety of restaurants with diverse cuisines from many countries and styles to choose from. Asoke is also close to Benchakitti Park, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, and it’s also easy to travel to One Bangkok.
Silom:
Moving on to the Silom area. Adjacent to Rama IV Road, the Silom area also offers a variety of food options. However, it mostly leans towards Japanese cuisine because the Silom area has a large Japanese population and many Japanese companies, resulting in the majority of the food being Japanese-style.
The Silom area is also close to several shopping malls such as Central Silom, One Bangkok, and Samyan Mitrtown, and close to the BTS, this line connects to Siam Paragon and Central World as well.
Rama IX – Ratchada
The Rama IX area is slightly more affordable compared to the two locations mentioned above. This area is connected to both the MRT subway line and the Airport Rail Link (ARL), making it convenient for those traveling into the city from Suvarnabhumi Airport. There is a wide variety of food and dining options available, and it is adjacent to shopping malls such as Central Rama 9, The One Ratchada, and Big C Place Ratchadaphisek.
From Rama IX – Ratchada, you can also easily take the MRT to the BTS Asoke station, which is directly connected to the Terminal 21 Asok shopping mall.
On Nut
A more affordable area for accommodation is On Nut. It is located right next to the BTS On Nut station and a Lotus’s supermarket. This area has many local Thai food options, but there might not be as many choices for tourists compared to the areas mentioned earlier. It’s an area that focuses on being more budget-friendly.
The advantages of this area are its easy access to central Bangkok (it’s not too far), the abundance of local and cheaper food, and more affordable accommodation. However, the variety and number of restaurants might be less than in other areas.
