Tokyo DisneySea has been my dream theme park since I was a child. But as they say, dreams come true when you work, and this was my very first time at any Disney park!

After much deliberation, I decided to visit Tokyo DisneySea first. Since DisneySea has more attractions geared towards adults compared to Disneyland, the decision wasn’t difficult for me at the time.

The atmosphere inside the park had the theme songs of each zone playing softly, constantly catching our ears. The decorations truly made it feel like we had stepped into those movies, and the staff were also very friendly, smiling, and always ready to help.

The period I visited coincided perfectly with the Tokyo Disneyland 40th Anniversary celebration, which allowed me to get unlimited free 40th Anniversary Priority Passes. I managed to get them for about 3 rides, which I considered quite worth it.

My trip was in early March, when the weather in Tokyo is around 5 to 15 degrees Celsius – perfectly cool. Plus, it had snowed lightly in the morning the day before I went to the park, making it quite cold and a little damp that day.

The waiting time for each ride was around 40 to 50 minutes. The first ride I went on was Journey to the Center of the Earth. I think this ride was quite popular at the time, making the queue longer than usual, and it was very cold that day.

While waiting for each ride, there were decorations depicting various scenes from the movies, keeping us entertained while the queue slowly moved forward. I think they manage the ride queues quite well.

However, if you’re not in a hurry, the queues tend to decrease by about 50% in the afternoon. At least, there are considerably fewer people than in the morning. This is because many people flock to see the water parade and other shows, which you can conveniently check through the Disney Resort app.

The food in each zone is different. For example, the Aladdin zone features restaurants styled like those in the movie. The main dish is the currently popular curry rice (I’ll write a separate article about this later).

Food prices vary, averaging between 700 to 1500 yen. Payment can be made with both cash and card. The portion sizes are generous, and the food is delicious! And don’t forget to try the little green aliens from Toy Story; they come with various fillings.

Before heading back, don’t miss the nightly show, a must-see! It was incredibly spectacular. If you like Disney, you might just fall in love with it. The lights and colors were truly impressive and worth the ticket price.

If you are planning to go, I highly recommend visiting on a weekday. I found the crowds to be significantly smaller, allowing me to experience more rides. And don’t miss the Tower of Terror, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Indiana Jones – they are the highlights!

For those who are debating whether to visit Disneyland or DisneySea first, I would suggest Disneyland if you have young children under the age of two.

However, it’s not that DisneySea isn’t suitable for young children. DisneySea has the Mermaid Lagoon and “it’s a small world” too. It’s just that most of the rides are more geared towards adults than at Disneyland.

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys their travels on every trip! I’m cheering on all of you who are trying to travel independently like me to have fun with it. There might be some getting lost or making mistakes, but in the end, it will all become a memorable story someday.
